Sportsman take center stage at Autumn-Motive Fest 2012

Millerstown Pic-A-Part Sportsman take center stage at Autumn-Motive Fest 2012

Sarver, PA (September 6, 2012) On a weekly basis, all summer long, the Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman/Stocks wait patiently as the “Big Three” of the Fab Four Racing rotate the weekly spotlight, but this Saturday, September 8, they will stand in the spotlight with a $2,000 payday on the line for the winner of the Sportsman/Stock Spectacular portion of Autumn-Motive Fest 2012.  This race is akin to a World of Outlaws sanctioned event for the Ti22 Sprints or Precise Late Models both in status and purse scale.  The Sportsman/Stock Spectacular brings in some of the best stock car drivers in Western Pennsylvania and forces the Pic-A-Part Sportsman to defend their home turf.

Three of the past four Spectaculars have been won by non-regulars with Chris Schneider the only local driver to score the big win recently.  Mike Miller is back to championship form with last Friday’s feature win on the All Star Sprint card and final tune-up for Autumn-Motive Fest.  AJ Flick had a fast & furious finish to the 2012 Fab Four Racing season with three straight podium finishes and a sixth place finish last Friday Night.  Joe Kelley hasn’t found the magic path back to Sheetz Victory Lane yet in 2012, but has three straight podium finishes heading into this weekend and winning $2,000 will go a long way to mask an otherwise lost season for the seven-time Track Champion and All Time division wins leader.

Championship runner-up Jim Fosnaught claimed his first checkered flag on August 3 and is now a threat to win each and every time he rolls onto the Action Track.  Engine woes shelved newly crowned 2012 Budweiser Track Champion Corey McPherson last weekend, but he’s working towards being back in action Saturday night gunning for his sixth feature win of the season and a $2,000 payday!

SS Chassis guru and super substitute driver Chris Schneider won the 2010 Sportsman/Stock Spectacular and is a threat to win anytime and in whatever car he straps into, especially with extra money on the line!  Schneider drove the Bill Seitz #53 to Sheetz Victory Lane just two weeks ago on Fab Four Racing Championship Night filling in for a vacationing Rob Shook.  He’s also won features in Jim Fosnaught’s #20J and in a GM Performance crate two years ago.

Regional stock car stars Rusty Martz (2008, 2011) and Nick Goss (2009) have stolen three of the past four Spectacular wins and are expected to return for another run at the big $2,000 winner’s share of the Autumn-Motive Fest purse.  The open rules, open tire format of this race brings in drivers from local tracks all over the region and the Sportsman/Stock Spectacular always brings in Western PA’s top stock car drivers.

Autumn-Motive Fest will also include the second $1,000-to-win, 100-lap Enduro.  Enduro Rules & Registration can be found on our website www.Lernerville.com under the Downloads tab on the right hand side of the page.

“Back to School” Bus & Kid’s Bike races are scheduled next Saturday, September 15 along with Figure 8s, Senior Series Stocks and the only Demo Derby of 2012.  Demo Derby rules can be found at Lernerville.com under the Downloads tab on the right hand side of the page.

Two weeks down the road is the much anticipated return of the “Greatest Show on Dirt” as the World of Outlaws return to the Action Track for the first time since the scintillating Silver Cup Twin 30s in mid-July.  Craig Dollansky won the first 30-Lap A-Main, but Danny Holtgraver stole the show charging from 19th on the grid to second place at the checkers and of course Defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Tony Stewart ran away with the second 30-lap A-Main to thrill a huge crowd.  The Commonwealth Clash is scheduled for Saturday, September 22 and tickets are on sale 24/7 at Lernerville.com.  All advance ticket purchases include a FREE pit pass upgrade!

Then after a month of darkness, the Action Track will close the 2012 season with the three-night mega show known as the DIRTcar Round Up Steel City Stampede.  10 divisions will compete over three nights of Thursday-Friday-Saturday, October 25-26-27.  The Ti22 Sprints, Precise Late Models and Diehl Mods will race for $3,000-to-win and the Diehl Mod feature will also be the BRP Modified Tour Finale under the banner of the Kodiak Memorial.  Pic-A-Part Sportsman, FASTRAK NE Late Models, UMP/UEMS Mods, 305 Sprints, Mod Lites and 4 Cylinders will be in action all three nights and the wild weekend of racing will end with another $1,000-to-win, 100-lap Enduro.
