Silver Cup Twins 30s from the Local Perspective

ULMS Lates & UEMS Mods join Sportsman this Friday, July 20

Sarver, PA (July 19, 2012) 2010 Lernerville Speedway/Budweiser Track Champion Danny Holtgraver continues to skyrocket into super stardom in the 410 sprint world with a thrilling run from 19th to second in the first of the Silver Cup Twin 30s.  Despite a plethora of cautions, Holtgraver did not ascend to the front by attrition!  In fact, in one straightaway, between the bottom of turn two and the entrance to turn three, Holtgraver passed 24 seasons worth of World of Outlaws Champions and over 700 wins in Steve Kinser, Donny Schatz and Jason Sides.  Then on the last lap, using the same move from the same groove, Holtgraver rocketed past his mentor & friend Tim Shaffer (The Defending Silver Cup Champion) to finish second to A-Main #1 and eventual overall Silver Cup Champion Craig Dollansky.

NASCAR’s Tony Stewart wins the second Twin 30

SARVER, Pa. - July 17, 2012 - Conservative was a little harder than Craig Dollansky anticipated on a humid Tuesday evening at Lernerville Speedway.

Dollansky climbed from his sprint car in Victory Lane, visibly exhausted after a pair of 30-lap, $10,000-to-win features at the 21st annual Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup Presented by GottaRace.com. After he and NASCAR star Tony Stewart split the main event victories, Dollansky was declared the overall champion because he had a higher average finish than Stewart.

Freaky Friday the 13th - Fab Four Race Report 7.13

Usual Suspects win on a Freaky Friday the 13th of Fab Four Racing

Miley & McPherson win fifth, Ellenberger & Murdick win fourth

Bolland & Swartzlander renew longstanding rivalry with last turn melee

Over $4500 donated for Cowboy Brian Steinman’s Recovery Fund

Sarver, PA (July 13, 2012) Freaky things happen of Friday the 13th, especially during Fab Four Racing!  The night started off innocently enough as Don Gamble hosted dozens of drivers and over a dozen cars for the Annual Nostalgia Night/Old Timers Meeting.  And between donations at the gates, to the drivers as they walked through the stands with their helmets, tips from the concession stand employees and Ed Ferree’s payout, the Lernerville Speedway family generously donated $4667.13 to the “Cowboy” Brian Steinman Recovery Fund!  Even the heat races went off without much of a hitch, but once the green flag dropped on the first feature, things took a turn for the worse.

Bolland DQed after contact with Swartzlander coming to checkered

Dave Murdick scores fourth win after green-white-checkered restart

Ellenberger wins 4th, Miley and McPherson each score 5th win

Sarver, PA (July 13, 2012) Friday the 13th was definitely in full effect as Brian Ellenberger (Ti22 Sprints) and Jared Miley (Precise Lates) win red & cautions riddled features. But the real chaos came in the Diehl Mods feature when a great race between longtime rivals Kevin Bolland and Brian Swartzlander was marred by a late race incident that resulted in Swartzlander spinning in turn four coming to the checkered flag and Bolland being disqualified for rough driving.  The field was re-racked for a green-white-checkered restart and Dave Murdick, whom inherited the lead, took his fourth feature win of the season.  Corey McPherson brought the Fab Four Racing portion of the night with his fifth feature win, while Paul Baccus won the Western PA Vintage Dirt Modified feature as part of Nostalgia Night.

Rob Shook shakes off Defending Champ to win Sportsman feature

Sarver, PA (July 6, 2012) Despite a hot, miserable week of weather, the Action Track prep crew did an amazing job providing a fast, tacky race surface Friday night and the action was fast & furious all night long!  The night got off to a rough start during heat races as Bob Warren rolled over his #96B Modified exiting turn four and turned downright scary as Brian Steinman took a wild ride in turn four, backing his #24S Sprinter into the wall at full speed, crushing the tail tank and igniting a fire.  The Lernerville Rescue Squad responded quickly and professionally to extricate Brian from the car. He was airlifted to a regional hospital for further evaluation. Please keep Brian and his family in your thoughts and prayers!

Sarver, PA (July 6, 2012) Chuck Sarver, one of the true good guys in the pits at Lernerville Speedway scored an emotional first career feature win in the Precise Late Models, holding off Mike Johnson.  Before his breakthrough win, Dave Murdick ran away with the Diehl Mods feature and Rod George broke a two year drought in a fast & furious Ti22 Sprint feature over early leader Jack Sodeman Jr.  The Pic-A-Part Sportsman feature was another barnburner with Rob Shook and Mike Miller battling for and swapping the lead multiple times, with Shook prevailing for his first win of the season and his second in the Bill Seitz #53.  Brian Steinman took a hard ride backwards into the turn three wall in Ti22 Sprint heat competition and had to be extricated from the car and flown to a regional hospital for further evaluation.  He was awake and alert upon being removed from the car.  Thoughts and prayers to a full and speedy recover.  And we’d be remiss not to say thanks to the brave men & women on the Lernerville Rescue Squad that did an excellent and professional job fighting the flames and taking every precaution necessary to remove Brian safely from his car!
