Double Your Pleasure Night at Lernerville Speedway Sarver, PA (May 23, 2008) It was “Double Your Pleasure” Night at Lernerville Speedway as Sheetz Victory Lane saw two first time feature winners and two Reigning Track Champions pick up their second wins of 2008. Commercial Truck & Trailer Sprint Car driver Rob Eyler and Friedman’s Freshmarkets UMP DIRTcar Super Late Models driver John Mollick visited Sheetz Victory Lane for the first time at Lernerville Speedway. Meanwhile Reigning Track Champions Brian Swartzlander (Ferrante Motor Cars DIRTcar Modifieds) and Mike Pegher Jr. (Advance Auto Parts UMP DIRTcar Street Stocks) picked up feature wins, neither is a stranger to Sheetz Victory Lane! Rob Eyler scored an emotional, inspired career first Lernerville win in the Commercial Truck & Trailer Sprint Feature. The Eyler family buried Rob’s sister Chrissy this morning, but tonight the family celebrated an understandably emotional win in Sheetz Victory Lane. Eyler has been fast all year and with the extra motivation to win the race for his sister, he simply would not be denied his time in the spotlight! Rod George ran a strong second, but could not catch Eyler in lapped traffic. Brian Ellenberger, Dan Shetler and Kevin Schaeffer rounded out the top five. Brent Matus, Bob Felmlee and Jack Sodeman Jr. picked up heat race wins. John Mollick also picked up his first career Lernerville Feature win in the ultra-competitive Friedman’s Freshmarkets UMP DIRTcar Super Late Model feature. Mollick took a big leap forward last season as he got faster as the season progressed. Tonight, he was simply the class of the field of arguably the deepest, most competitive field in Fab Four Racing. On his way to Sheetz Victory Lane, Mollick held off the challenges of Reigning Track Champion Alex Ferree, last week’s feature winner John Flinner, local young gun Gregg Satterlee and regional star Doug Horton. When the checkered flag flew Doug Horton, Gregg Satterlee, John Flinner and Sammy Stile chased John Mollick across the finish line. Colby Frey, Doug Horton, Gregg Satterlee and John Garvin Jr. claimed heat race wins. John Flinner won the B-Main on his way to another Top Five finish! Mike Pegher Jr. has had a rough start to the 2008 season, but appeared to have it all back together tonight by winning both the 15 lap Advance Auto Parts UMP DIRTcar Street Stock Feature and also his heat race. Pegher took the lead on lap eight and would not be denied his first feature win of the season in the division. This, however, was not Pegher’s first win at Lernerville this season. He picked up the UMP DIRTcar Pro Late Model feature win Tuesday Night May 13 during the First Commonwealth Bank Clash. Pegher is the only driver at Lernerville Speedway this season to win feature events in two different divisions! Hard Charging Jason Fosnaught chased Pegher across the stripe for an impressive second place finish. Veterans Joe Kelley and Bob Lipinski crossed the line third and fifth respectively, while up-and-comers Bryan Shaffer and Ryan Moyer finished fourth and sixth. Shaffer, Pegher and Jim Fosnaught picked up heat race wins. Matt Wagner took the checkers in the B-Main. Brian Swartzlander shut the joint down with his 56th career Lernerville feature win in the Ferrante Motor Cars DIRTcar Modifieds. Despite starting fourth, Swartzlander led every circuit of the 35-lap feature. Dave Murdick and Tom Winkle both gave him a run for his money but Swartzlander is just too tough to pass when he’s out front. He did, however, have a late race scare as he bicycled the car on its right side in turns one & two on the lap 22 restart. He came back onto four wheels still in the lead and blazed a trail to Sheetz Victory Lane for the second time this early season. Tom Winkle and Kevin Bolland followed Swartzlander home in second and third. Relative newcomer to the Lernerville Speedway Matt Baker had a strong run to finish fourth. Mark Flick rounded out the top five. Del Rougeux Jr., Kevin Bolland and Tim Doran won their respective heat races. Full race report will be released tomorrow!! Race Results 313 N.
