Happy New Year from Lernerville Speedway! Praise for Lynch, Support for Pastor Bill 2010 DIRTcar Membership Forms Online Sarver, PA (January 1, 2010) A new decade is upon us and the Lernerville Speedway would like to wish everyone a very safe and Happy New Year. Lernerville Speedway will turn 50 years old this decade and we look forward to the further development of our younger drivers like Carl Bowser, Danny Holtgraver, Pete Miller III, Mike Norris, Denton Boyer, Shaun Fleeger and Corey McPherson just to name a few. But we also look forward to the continued success of our record breaking drivers who rewrite history every time they roll their familiar mounts into Sheetz Victory Lane. Drivers like Ed Lynch Jr., Rod George, Bob Felmlee, Lynn Geisler, John Flinner, Alex Ferree, Brian Swartzlander, Kevin Bolland, Dave Murdick and Joe Kelley each rewrite the record books with every feature win!
Speaking of Ed Lynch Jr., the All Time Leader in Commercial Truck & Trailer DIRTcar Sprint wins was recently recognized as one of the “Decade’s Dazzling Dozen” Sprint Car drivers by SPEEDTV.com’s Jim Chiapelli. According to Chiappelli, Lynch checks in at #11 “by reaching triple-digits in victories and multiple track championships, this second-generation Western Pennsylvania standout dominates the local scene and is competitive running a “true outlaw” schedule.” Congratulations to Ed Lynch Jr., his parents Ed Sr. and Jean and the entire Lynch Racing Team on this honor which is truly rooted in their collective hard work and dedication! The Lernerville Speedway would like to request that the racing community wrap its arms around Pastor Bill Beck and his wife Judy. Judy has been hospitalized at Sharon General Hospital with back surgery then recently with additional complications. Pastor Bill, who has been faithfully by her side, is well known and respected throughout the racing community and especially in the pits. His prayers and kind words have helped a lot of people through some very difficult times and to fully appreciate joyful times. But now, Pastor Bill and Judy need our help. To that end, a benefit spaghetti dinner will be held on Saturday, February 6 at the Normandy Banquet Center/Hickory VFW in Hermitage, Pa. The $10 dinner will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with proceeds benefiting the Beck Family. Advance tickets are now available by sending a check or money order for $10 per meal to Mercer Raceway Park at 4368 US 422, Pulaski, PA 16143.
